ABOUT US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to care for your child and to help him or her learn and develop in a safe and secure environment. At the same time, Little Owls aims to promote equality; value diversity and to invest in our community.

Forest School

We have an alliance with our friends, the Park Pharmacy Trust at Thorn Park, where children can enjoy another exciting learning experience with Little Owls. Our Forest School, for 3 year olds, is led by our own Forest School qualified staff and provides a stimulating, outdoor learning opportunity for your child.

Please note: Forest School sessions need to be booked in advance as places are limited

Sensory Garden Room

We offer a warm, friendly, creative and enjoyable environment for your children to develop, learn and play.  We are proud to be able to offer a newly built, beautiful outdoor sensory classroom in a large-lawned garden.  Equipped with a variety of fascinating and interesting sensory equipment it provides a different learning experience for children of all ages.  We even have a 'chill out' area where our children can relax and/or enjoy quieter activities

Early Years Service

Sometimes members of the Early Years Service (Plymouth City Council) visit our setting to provide us with advice and support. They demonstrate and model different teaching strategies which provide our practitioners with an opportunity to enhance their skills and helps support children with their learning and development.

When outside professionals visit, they may occasionally work alongside your child or a group of children for a brief time. A variety of fun activities may be demonstrated to support your child’s learning. All outside professionals will have undertaken the necessary suitability checks, including an enhanced DBS and will be accompanied by a member of our staff at all times.

We are confident that you will be happy for your child to be involved in these occasional sessions. If however you do not wish your child to take part in these activities, please confirm this with the manager or your child’s key person.
